A Harlem Love Song is D. L.  first publication, "A Harlem Love Song," chronicles the tale of a woman unwilling to value the good man God has sent her, and the harsh results of that refusal. She uses the backdrop, lingo and poetic prose of Harlem during its robust renaissance period and punctuates the story with illustrations by up and coming artist, Rodney Davis.  She describes it as a children's style adult storybook.
